Let’s get to know each other

Why should you come here?

Tucked into the heart of Zermatt, Resort La Ginabelle offers a warm blend of authentic Swiss hospitality and refined alpine luxury. Run by the Abgottspon family for generations, the hotel embodies the charm of a traditional mountain lodge while delivering the comfort and service expected from a modern wellness retreat.

The most special thing about the hotel

What truly makes Resort La Ginabelle special is the rare combination of family-run hospitality and genuine attention to detail that can be felt throughout the entire stay. While many alpine hotels offer beautiful views or excellent wellness facilities, La Ginabelle stands out because of the atmosphere created by the people behind it. Every interaction with the staff felt warm, personal, and sincere, making guests feel genuinely welcomed rather than simply accommodated.

Front-Row Views of the Matterhorn

Watching the sunrise over the Matterhorn from the balcony was easily one of the highlights of the entire trip. Later in the evening, the same balcony became the perfect place for stargazing, where the silhouette of the mountain under a clear alpine sky created an atmosphere that felt both peaceful and surreal.

Culinary Delights

Exceptional Multi-Course Dining

If there was one aspect of our stay that truly exceeded expectations, it was the dining experience.

Dinner at the hotel is served as a multi-course menu that celebrates both Swiss culinary traditions and modern alpine gastronomy. Each evening felt like a carefully choreographed experience, where every dish was presented with precision and creativity.

What made the experience even more special was the service. The waiters were exceptional, delivering each course with genuine warmth and remarkable attention to detail. Their professionalism transformed dinner into something far more than a meal - it became one of the highlights of the entire stay.

The combination of beautifully presented dishes, thoughtful pacing, and attentive service created an atmosphere that felt both refined and welcoming.

A Spa Designed for Alpine Relaxation

After a day on the slopes, the wellness area at La Ginabelle quickly became one of our favorite places to unwind.

The spa spans several floors and offers a carefully curated selection of saunas, relaxation spaces, and pools designed to maximize recovery and relaxation. The heated infinity pool was particularly impressive, allowing guests to swim while enjoying uninterrupted views of the surrounding alpine landscape.

La Ginabelle also holds a unique distinction in Switzerland as the first hotel to feature two outdoor pools, both heated and accessible year - round. In winter, swimming outside while surrounded by snow-covered mountains creates a magical contrast between warm water and crisp alpine air.

Combined with a diverse sauna selection and calm relaxation areas, the spa offers exactly what travelers need after an active day exploring the mountains.

A Stay Defined by Warm Hospitality

What ultimately sets La Ginabelle apart is not just its location, spa, or views - it’s the people.

Throughout our stay, the staff consistently demonstrated a level of hospitality that felt genuine and personal. Every interaction, from check-in to dinner service, reflected a deep commitment to guest experience.

Combined with unforgettable Matterhorn views, excellent cuisine, and a spa designed for true relaxation, La Ginabelle offers a stay that captures the essence of alpine luxury.

For travelers visiting Zermatt, it’s a place where memorable moments come naturally - whether that’s watching the sunrise over the Matterhorn, swimming in a heated outdoor pool surrounded by snow, or enjoying a beautifully crafted dinner after a day in the mountains.

How to get there?

Once in Zermatt, the hotel is conveniently located only about five to six minutes on foot from the train station and just two minutes from the Sunnegga lift, making it an ideal base for skiing and mountain adventures. The hotel also offers a small electric shuttle service to pick up guests and their luggage directly from the station.
