Malta is a beautiful, small island located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, between Sicily and the North African coast. Even though it's considered to be a small island, there are plenty of things to see and do and we want to show you some of them.
Visit the Island’s Capital - Valletta.
Make sure to spend at least a few hours in Malta’s capital city. It's a beautiful medieval town with narrow streets that are full of cute shops, restaurants, and cathedrals. It’s also worth visiting the main park and stopping to have a delicious ice-cream.
Marsaxlokk Village
A traditional fishing village in the south eastern region of Malta, Marsaxlokk is one of the most amazing small towns on the island. The village’s name comes from marsa, which means “port” and xlokk, which is the local name for south-east. It’s water is decorated with hundreds of small colorful boats which look absolutely incredible.
Mdina – the Ancient Capital
Mdina is a fortified city in the northern region of Malta, which once served as the island's capital from the ancient times to the medieval period. It is quite a small town in the middle of the island filled with ancient streets and an observation square.
White Cliffs
Malta’s one and only White Cliffs! It’s is similar to the White Cliffs of Dover but a little smaller yet still really impressive.
Fort Manoel on the Manoel Island
A very remote, small island right across the water from Valletta. If you're looking for a place with no tourists yet still want to stay near the city center, then this place is for you. This little island is very empty and has absolutely no tourist conveniences like shops, bars, or entertainment. The main reason you come here is for the amazing view of Valletta from across the bay.
Easter Egg
A small tip for visitors! If you have a chance to visit the island on May 1st – try do so. It's a national public holiday, Labor Day, and there will be lots of tourists and different live concerts, performances and fireworks that will create an amazing celebratory spirit on the island. Trust us, it is worth checking out!
Conclusion
Malta is not a tropical island, it's a dry piece of land near Africa yet it's so full of different places, activities and entertainment. It has been an independent country since 1956 but you can still feel the British spirit in it. We've described only the main island but there are also small islands nearby like Gozo, Comino and even Sicily which is only half an hours flight from Malta.

After a car trip along the Balkans I felt in love with their beauty and charm. Dubrovnik, appeared to be one of my brightest impressions. It is a city of a picturesque old town with marble streets, baroque buildings and endless shimmering of the Adriatic. This city attracts millions of tourists and many celebrities such as Tina Turner, Brian Ferry. Diego Maradona was also recently spotted here. Now I understand why.
The Queen of the Dolomites, Cortina D'Ampezzo, wins your heart with its timeless landscape. A UNESCO World Natural Heritage Area, it’s a paradise for hikers and climbers. It has a wealth of hiking trails, classic and sport climbing possibilities, and some of the most beautiful Via Ferrata routes in the Dolomites. It’s also a paradise for skiers, and snowboarders, in winter. We found a hotel there to make your stay comfortable; and right in the center of busy and beautiful pedestrian streets.
