Things you can’t Leave NY without Doing
“There is something in the New York air that makes sleep useless”, said Simone Beauvoir. I would like to add that there is something in the New York air that makes you happy. Whatever you do, you will fall in love with NYC. Here are my top 10 things to do in the city that never sleeps.
Drink the best cocktails

New York is famous for its cocktails. I had my all-time best at The View Restaurant and Lounge in the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square. You will do two things here: enjoy an amazing view of the city and sip delicious cocktails. I must admit that the drinks here are better than the food. When making your reservation, be sure to ask for a table by the window.
View the city from Top of the Rock

Yes, this is a very touristy thing to do, but also a must! Top of the Rock offers you the best views of Manhattan. You can see uptown (Central Park), midtown (the Empire State Building) and downtown. Unlike the Empire State Building, there is no barrier so you can take great pictures. The best part is that you can buy tickets for a certain time and skip the lines, so you can get to the top in a few minutes. The entrance fee is $20.
Drink coffee

New Yorkers love coffee. There’s a coffee shop every 20-30 metres and they can’t get enough of the stuff. You can find small local coffee shops or choose from the huge menus of coffee giants like Starbucks or Pret a Manger.
Take a taxi

Just put your hand up and a yellow cab will be right beside you. NYC is one of the cities in America that is not monopolised by Uber. A rides in a yellow cab or an Uber car costs the same and the yellow cabs are everywhere and very convenient.
Eat - lots and everywhere

New York is one of the best places for burger lovers. In my opinion, the best burgers in New York can be found at BURGER JOINT (Le Parker Meridien Hotel) - “the hidden burger”. Located inside a 5-star hotel this tiny amazing burger shop possibly has the best burgers in town.

Go to the iconic Chelsea market and try the best lobsters in town and lobster soup. Amazing!
Enjoy Times Square by day and night

There is truly nothing like Times Square – NYC’s busiest attraction. Take pictures with funny cartoon heroes, watch the Statue of Liberty counting money, dance with sexy dancers, get lost in the crowds... just feel it.
Get active

The best way to do this is to head to Central Park. It’s huge and it could take an entire day to walk it. In my opinion, the best way to visit Central Park is to rent a bike. It costs $20 for 2 hours or $40 for the entire day or you could run around it.
Go shopping

Very original advice I know, but NYC was made for shopping. Walk around 5th and 7th Avenue or if you want to hunt for real bargains head to one of the Century21 outlets. Be prepared to spend a day there, and pay just $20 for a Calvin Klein scarf or $50 for a Tommy Hilfiger sweater.
Walk around Wall Street

The financial centre of the world is worth discovering. Take pictures with the famous bull and see all of the financial institutions.
Take the free ferry to Staten Island

The free, 25-minute ferry to Staten Island is an awesome opportunity to get the best views of downtown Manhattan. The ferry departs every 20 minutes and goes really close to the Statue of Liberty. The best part is that there’s no waiting in line and it’s free.
See NY from the Brooklyn Bridge by day and night

The Brooklyn Bridge, built in the 19th century, connects Manhattan with New York's most populous borough, Brooklyn. The bridge is one of the most famous and magnificent landmarks in New York City - and it provides amazing views from both by day and night.
