Winter holiday in NY: The Best Things to Do
We know it's cold outside… but winter in New York City is actually our favourite time of year thanks to all the twinkly lights, creative holiday displays, and surplus of delicious hot food and beverages. Miracles are in the air and make you forget about the freezing cold. Be prepared to spend the most amazing holiday here!
Go ice skating at Bryant Park

Of all the skating rinks in NY, this one is the most beautiful in our opinion, and the winter village with the city's best pop-up holiday market surrounding it promises you hot chocolate or mulled wine right when you come off the ice. In addition, prices are lower than the nearby Rockefeller Centre (free to use, rentals 15 dollars per person) and no pre-booking is required.

Find the sexiest Santa

Dive into the crowds at Times Square and enjoy the holiday season at this iconic NYC location. Make sure to meet this sexy Santa, who jokes that he is not cold because he is “Hot Chocolate Santa”.
Have a coffee at Trump Tower

Pay a visit to the building of the new American President and drink a coffee at his favourite coffee shop.

Get active

Take a winter stroll or run through one of NYC’s best parks – Central Park. With a cup of hot chocolate or with Christmas music playing in your headphones, Central Park is a magical place to be in every season and in any weather.

Join the crowd near Rockefeller Plaza

Take a picture near the world’s most famous Christmas tree, go ice skating or just walk around the busiest place in the city. Saks creative window displays and light show is just around the corner (as well as the biggest Michael Kors shops, with sales on during the holiday season).
Warm up with a Chai Latte Tea

Cinnamon-infused Chai Latte caffeine-free tea will keep you warm during your NYC adventures. We think that NYC has the largest number of coffee shops in the world so the choice is really great.
Enjoy the Christmas window displays

Feast your eyes on the holiday displays in the shop windows. With sales going on throughout January, the biggest department stores in NYC – Macy’s, Lord & Taylor and, of course, the worldfamous Saks – have to be seen to be believed. They are so beautifully decorated that you could spend hours just looking at them.

Enjoy the holiday mood

Go and catch a show at Radio City Music Hall, enjoy the wonderful sounds of classical music at the famous Carnegie Hall, or take in one of the Broadways shows and feel the holiday buzz.

Enjoy the festive mood at some NYC restaurants

NYC restaurants are ready to excite your taste buds and give you all sorts of pleasures, including aesthetically. For example, at this restaurant, Benoit (60 W 55th St), we couldn’t stop admiring the beauty of our desserts. I must say the taste could easily compete with its look.
The foodie-themed 'restaurant week' spans three weeks (January 14 to February 8), and this muchloved event offers reduced set meals at great city restaurants for $25/$38 for lunch/dinner.

Walk around

Enjoy the busy city streets, covered in lights and Christmas decorations. Just feel the vibe with a cup of hot chocolate (New Yorkers take their hot chocolate seriously!) and a smile on your face.
