Dreams La Romana Hotel: the Best Beach in the Dominican Republic
Our amazing trip to the Caribbean jewel, the Dominican Republic, started at this upscale, all-inclusive hotel. We took its beautiful beach for granted, but we later discovered that it was the best beach out of six other locations.

The beach at Dreams La Romana has soft white sand and clear blue water. The hotel is located on the island’s Caribbean side (in the small town of Bayahibe) and it can be proud of its beach with pool-like, calm water. They even offer zumba classes in the sea!

The beach is crowded and has tons of lounge chairs and a volleyball court. So if you want bounty-style pictures, you should come early or in the afternoon. As Preferred Club guests, we had access to a private beach area with large palapa umbrellas and nicer lounge chairs, which made us feel really special. We were also spoiled by a private check in, Preferred Guest lounge, restaurants, and lots of other small things which made our holiday memorable.

Our room on the first floor in the Preferred Guest building faced the sea and it was a pleasure to wake up and to see the view every morning.

What we really loved about the resort was that, despite its huge size (it has 756 rooms), Dreams La Romana has totally quiet areas. There are adult-only zones and a swimming pool, an adult-only restaurant and a private jacuzzi area on the cliff. However, if you come here to have fun, you can enjoy all day long entertainment and activities and all-inclusive bars serving every cocktail you could possibly imagine.

The hotel itself is spread out over a large area and features lush greenery including botanical gardens with all kinds of cacti, palms and flowers.

We liked the awesome array of restaurants here - there are seven à la cart restaurants serving all types of food. Portofino Italian, Himitsu Pan-Asiani, Seaside Grill, Oceana Seafood, Dominican, Mediterranean, and Boedeaux French, which is exclusively for adults. Our favourite was the Oceana seafood restaurant by the beach.

I must say that the food and drinks here are noticeably better than at most all-inclusive resorts.

The resort is located 50 minutes’ drive from Punta Cana airport. Getting there was a piece of cake thanks to a private transfer from Amstar.

We spent two amazing days here and, by then, we were relaxed and ready to move on and explore more of the Dominican Republic.

Take me there!
