Social by Heinz Beck: Staggering Service with Magnificent Views of Dubai

Recently, we had the chance to visit one of the best restaurants in Dubai, Social by Heinz Beck. The restaurant is part of the luxurious Waldorf Astoria Hotel and has been awarded three Michelin stars, the highest standard there is.

Featuring inviting design elements and offering innovative contemporary Italian cuisine, Social by Heinz Beck offers a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere with magnificent views of Dubai, making it the ideal setting for everyday dining and special celebrations.

Heinz Beck is widely known throughout Italy and Europe as a notable master of modern gastronomy and his Dubai restaurant was chosen as "Highly-commended Best Italian Restaurant" for the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2016. We were delighted to have a chance to sample his culinary wizardry for ourselves.

Upon our arrival, we were given one of the best tables for two, which was outside on a terrace with an amazing view of the Dubai cityscape. The restaurant is located on the Palm so there is a great view from it to the coastline of Dubai.

Just below the terrace were amazingly lush gardens. We found it hard to get our heads around the fact that such vivid greenery could exist in a desert.

And now onto the pièce de résistance – the food. Even though we had very high expectations, our meal surpassed all of them.

By far! While sipping on a glass of amazing champagne – compliments of the chef – we enjoyed delicious fois gras, an awesome steak and an absolutely delectable raspberry dessert. We couldn’t have been happier - the dinner was superb. It took us about three hours to try everything and we could easily have spent more time there.

Social by Heinz Beck also has a special wine room and separate dining area for large groups of people.

Interior details

The staff were extremely nice and helpful. Our waiter was the best we've ever had. He was so polite and genuine, and gave us a lot of good advice. To our surprise, he even spoke a little Russian!

Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had and we are extremely happy to have been invited.

  • As you approach the hotel, the first thing you notice is the impressive arch, Ibn Battuta Gate, which, at 60 metres high, is larger than the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The iconic entrance and themed décor are inspired by the travels of intrepid 14th century explorer, Ibn Battuta, who travelled the world from Africa and Europe to Arabia and the Far East. He first set off to do a “Haji” (pilgrimage to Mecca) when he was just 21 years old and ended up travelling for the next 24 years.
