The Ambassador à l’Opéra - the Spirit of Switzerland

The Ambassador à l'Opéra is a charming hotel right next to the Opera House, and only a few hundred metres away from the city centre and old town of Zurich. But the best thing is that it is just steps from beautiful Lake Zurich.

Guests can enjoy fresh, mainly local ingredients, surrounded by inspiring surrealist-baroque wall paintings depicting scenes from the world of opera.

Enjoying wine in Opera reastaurant

As a matter of fact, it's worth coming to this restaurant for the wall paintings alone. The staff were kind enough to show us specific spots to observe the most special aspects of the artworks.

The rooms themselves are quite small but very cosy. It's real boutique style and, if you're lucky, you’ll get a large balcony with a view of the Opera House.
