The Croke Park: Dublin’s Iconic Sporting Hotel
We flew in to Dublin late at night and headed straight forto a rather unusual hotel – the Croke Park Hotel Dublin’s iconic sporting hotel. With its convenient location, just minutes from Dublin Airport, the city centre, and primary business parks,The Croke Park is an excellent choice for those travelling for business or leisure.

Many of Dublin’s concerts, hip bars and restaurants, and cultural venues – like The 3Arena, Bord Gáis Energy Theaatre and Dublin Zoo are within a 10-minute drive.

As you have probably guessed, this is a fully sports-oriented hotel, with a special emphasis on football, and you feel that immediately upon entering the building.

There are so many different statues, photos on the wall, and even a sports bar with a fireplace and huge screens so you can watch sports 24/7.

The hotel is really popular, not only with tourists but also among locals. It’s lively bar, restaurant and heated outdoor terrace, which plays host to live music and summer barbecues, are popular destinations for everyone.

Behind every door there’s a super comfortable bed, the crispest linens, cosy duvets, marble bathrooms and plenty of space to work or relax.

Deluxe Room and Suite guests enjoy access to a beautifully appointed Executive Lounge, which offers complimentary all-day refreshments in a calm and serene space.

We were lucky to stay in one of the deluxe rooms with a beautiful living room, bedroom and a view of the historic and world-famous Croke Park Stadium, the spiritual home of Ireland’s native Gaelic games and one of the city’s leading venues for international conferences and headline con-certs.

There is also an Etihad Skyline Tour on top of Croke Park Stadium which is, without any doubts, the best way to see Dublin City from above. Besides, where else would you be able to walk along the very top of one of the largest Stadiums in the world?

Located directly opposite the hotel, Croke Park Stadium is not just a legendary sporting destination, but also one of Ireland’s most unique event venues. It can host up to two thousand people in spaces ranging from intimate rooms to lofty conference suites and exhibition halls, many overlooking the magnificent stadium.

The main screen, which looked pretty small at first, is actually the size of a real tennis court.

The tour is truly amazing and very informative as well. At the end you get the chance to visit the GAA Museum – the Museum of Gaelic sports.

We’ve been in many places but we’ve never seen a luxury hotels that is so sports focused and has an entire stadium on its doorstep. If you’re a sports fan, this is a place you must visit. I really couldn’t think of a better place for a group to get together and spend a weekend watching and discussing sports events. On the other hand, don’t think you need to be a sports enthusiast to come here. Personally, I am not a sports fan, not even a little bit, but I was still blown away by this fabulous place.
