Discover your Inner Princess at Clontarf Castle Hotel, Dublin

No matter where you go on holiday, it's important to look the part – an eye-catching bikini for that idyllic island, cosy winter woolies for an après ski party, or a classic LBD for the hottest rooftop bar in the trendiest city...

For this trip, however, we had something a little different in mind. We were going to stay at the Clontarf Castle Hotel in Dublin, a unique hotel with a modern aesthetic built around a medieval castle that dates from the 12th century.

Whenever I think of medieval times, I think of beautiful princesses, daring heroes, knights, chivalry... OK, OK, maybe I'm just a hopeless romantic! Still, I needed to find the perfect dress - we were staying at a medieval castle in the heart of 21st century Dublin. I felt that my wardrobe should reflect that; a dress that would combine my whimsical, fairy tale fantasies with a contemporary twist.

EFL Fashion came to my rescue - like a dashing knight on his noble steed! I can't tell you how gorgeous I felt in this creation. The soft fabric caressed my skin and hugged my body in all the right places. The delicate fabric shimmered in the romantic, low lighting of my surroundings.

I was so inspired, I decided to have a “Sleeping Beauty” moment!

But even though the beds here were so comfortable, a girl can't lie around all day. For our second evening at the hotel, I chose a slightly more revealing number. Mini-skirts might not have been an option in medieval times, but I was in a more “modern-day princess” mood.

With a pair of nude heels to complete my look, I was ready to go. The intricate lace detailing on my dress perfectly complemented the ornateness of the interior of the hotel. The plunging back and pretty bow made for the perfect combination of sexy chic and girlish flirtatiousness.

We finished the night in the piano bar of the hotel and, as I relaxed and sipped my delicious cocktail, I took the time to reflect and appreciate how the Clontarf Castle Hotel really has created the best of both worlds.

When I was a child I had a dream of visiting Australia in order to see Sydney’s Opera House and the red sands of the desert, to pet kangaroos and dive into the powerful waves of the ocean. When I turned 20, I went on my first long trip – a trip to Viña del Mar in Chile.
