TOP 5 Things to Do in Park City, Utah
Hurry up! It’s time to plan your winter holiday with the “Greatest Snow on Earth”, an exceptional skiing and snowboarding experience, award-winning dining, vibrant nightlife, endless recreation, and enduring memories.

Can one town really have it all? Park City in Utah can - and does. This town was put on the world map when it helped host the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, deemed the most successful Winter Olympics ever. Park City is home to the USA Ski team, and two-time Olympic gold medalist, professional snowboarder Shaun White regularly trains here. Today, Park City can be proud of two world-class winter resorts, including the largest ski area in the United States – less than an hour's drive from the famous Salt Lake City and 35 minutes’ drive from Salt Lake City International Airport.
So, if you decide to discover this great combination of snow, fun and luxury for yourself, here are our top 5 things to make your holiday unforgettable.
1. Discover Park City

Park City became famous and prosperous in the 1860s, when the first silver mines were opened here. During the height of its mining boom, the mountains surrounding Park City yielded $400 million in silver and created 23 millionaires, including the father of newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst.
A century later, because of the drop in the price of silver, the town was transformed into a ski destination.. And finally, in 2002, Olympic athletes came to Park City in search of gold. The town became a household name because of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

While spectacular alpine scenery and premium skiing might top the list of reasons to visit Park City today, there are a couple more: in 2008, the town was named one of the 20 “prettiest towns” in the United States by Forbes Travel Magazine, and last year Park City was chosen by Conde Nast Traveler readers as one of the best small cities in America.
Park City is a unique blend of old and new. We really recommend discovering Park City's historic Main Street. Sixty-four of the town’s buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and many of them are located along this street. More than 1,200 miles of tunnels wind through the surrounding mountains, remnants of the mining era. Historic Main Street is also the most popular place for nightlife and fine dining.
2. Have fun on the slopes

Whether you like to ski or snowboard, you will find the best options in Park City. Two world-class resorts - Deer Valley and Park City Mountain offer even more slopes, lifts and fun trails this winter.
The biggest news of the season is the opening of the largest ski and snowboarding resort in the United States, with the completion of a 50 million dollar renovation project connecting Park City Mountain with the neighbouring Canyons Resort. Now it’s one giant area of 30 square kilometres, 300+ trails, 41 lifts, seven terrain parks (for skiing and snowboarding),, six natural pipes, and different accommodation options. The new high-speed, two-way gondola, Quicksilver, will take guests from one side of the resort to the other. With so much diversity, the new area perfectly suits skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

Park City is also home to the luxurious Deer Valley Resort, which is consistently ranked as one of the top ski resorts in North America. Many celebrities, such as John Travolta, Dustin Hoffman and Michael Jordan have been seen here and some of them have private villas in the surrounding area.
Deer Valley Resort covers 101 trails and offers first-class services and amenities to its guests such as uniformed ski valets, complimentary tours from Mountain Hosts, limited lift tickets per day, groomed-to-perfection slopes and much more. Deer Valley Resort has been ranked number 1 for 2016 in the categories of Access, Guest Service, Dining, On-Mountain Food and Lodging by the readers of SKI Magazine. And for the third year in a row, Deer Valley Resort was named the #1 resort in the United States by the World Ski Awards.
3. Discover Utah Olympic Park

It’s a great opportunity to experience Utah’s Olympic legacy. Whether you would like to take a guided tour or explore all of the activities the Olympic Park offers, alone or with your family, you will have a great time here. The location of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games offers many activities and structures, like the adventure course and extreme zipline. We suggest you try a ride on the bobsled, which will send you zooming at a speed of 80 mph.

4. Relax in the Best Ski Hotel in the World

TripTemptation highly recommends you book Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley while on holiday in Park City. For the second year the hotel was awarded the Best Ski Hotel in the World by the World Ski Awards. This is Utah’s only Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond hotel, with Forbes Four Star dining, and Forbes Five-Star spa.
Named after Norwegian Olympic Gold Medal skier Stein Eriksen and nestled mid-mountain at Deer Valley Resort, it is more than just a ski resort hotel. It is a legend, offering guests an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life through luxurious accommodation, world-class dining, the best service and year-round recreation.
After a tiring day, guests can take a break from the world in one of 180 rooms or suites, read a book or have dinner by one of the 145 stone fireplaces throughout the property. And, of course, relax in the luxurious spa.
5. Discover winter amusements

Park City is far more than a town with two ski resorts. Throughout winter one can find a rich calendar of events. The main winter cultural event – the Sundance Film Festival – takes place in Park City every January. It is the largest independent film festival in the United States.
There are countless other things to do in Park City. From traditional winter fun, such as sleigh rides, snow tubing, ice skating and bobsledding, to the very unusual: snowmobiling, hot air ballooning and even… winter fly-fishing and heli-skiing.

Another interesting option is to take part in a gourmet wine tour.
Children will definitely enjoy the interactive Park City Museum with a look at its silver-mining history, skis and ski boots from 50 years ago, as well as the oldest underground jail in the West.
Ladies can try Park City Yoga Adventures which offers a paddle-board yoga class in the natural hot springs at the 10,000-year-old Homestead Crater.

A must for everyone is relaxing and rejuvenating after a tiring day on the slopes in one of the variety of world-class spas located around the town. We highly recommend a ride and amazing views from the funicular at the St. Regis Deer Valley and Remède Spa for a massage.
There are plenty of options for an amazing holiday and we promise you will never be bored in Park City.
