The Baglioni Hotel: A Warm Italian Welcome in London

The Baglioni Hotel is perfect for those who love and miss Italy. At the same time, it’s ideal for people who love five-star service. Medium-sized, with an opulent lobby, decadent interiors, cosy rooms with fireplaces and a smile on every staff member's face, it immediately makes you feel comfortable - almost like you're at home, Italian home.

The hotel is located in an 11th century building facing leafy Kensington Gardens, amidst the hustle and bustle of well-heeled Knightsbridge.

The hotel lobby and main restaurant feature Baroccan-style decor in rich gold and black colours with elaborate chandeliers, giant vases, mirrors, fireplaces, bronze sculptures, black-and-white Italian photography, and comfy velvet armchairs which are amazing to sink into in the morning while drinking your latte.

The suites, some of the biggest in London, have the same dark interior colours. A highlight is the mirrored marble bathrooms with deep-soaking tubs and power showers.

Despite the opulent ambiance, the hotel feels homely. It’s the Italian hospitality which makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. ‘Italians have a passion for hospitality. We only hire people who share this; it’s our pleasure to please our guests. It comes from the heart, and it makes all the difference’, says Alessandro Convertino, the General Manager of the hotel.

Despite being Italian, Alessandro says he doesn’t miss his sunny home as the hotel reminds him so much of Italy.

Restaurant in Baglioni Hotel

The Baglioni serves mainly Italian food, made with Italian products. You can find everything imaginable on this big impressive menu, including stracciatella cheese from Puglia.

Even a traditional English afternoon tea is served with Italian twists here. One can get Italian ciabatta instead of sandwiches and, of course, delicious Italian tiramisu is among the desserts.

The food at Brunello Lounge & Restaurant is very special. It was created by Michelin-starred chef, Moreno Cedroni, and includes delicacies such as morel and Marsala risotto, crab and Amalfi lemon linguine or pistachio crusted rack of lamb, but it tastes like home-made food cooked by a hospitable Italian family. Pair it with Italian wine from a wine list of more than 500 bins and enjoy the real Italian Dolce Vita.

The hotel is ready to make your stay truly luxurious with a Maceratti Quattro Porte pick up at the airport, a special night out at the famous Roof Gardens Club nearby, spa treatments in the comfort of your own suite and 24/7 butler service. These extras were highly appreciated by the many celebrities who have stayed at the hotel, including Michael Phipher, Jason Button, Mary Cary and many more.

I fell in love with traveling much earlier than I fell in love with my first man. And I'm still faithful to that love (But I have exchanged some men since my first one). I have never had a reason to regret my passion. I constantly dream of going further, it gives me indescribable emotions and meaning to my life.
