Phuket: The Asian Luxury

For many travelers Thailand seems to have become a second home. Tropical beaches with turquoise water, glorious cuisine, luxury SPAs and affordability -Thailand draws you like a magnet and doesn't want to let you go away from its solar hugs. TripTemptation spent a month in this tropical paradise, enjoying the best that the tourist island of Phuket has to offer.

Many people associate the word ‘Phuket’ with crowded beaches, where there is nowhere to put down you towels, with countless tales and vendor stands with odorous cheap food and with sex show bars, which attract sex tourism fans from all over the world. You can see a lot of that on the island; however, there is another Phuket - secluded, luxurious and exclusive. And we invite you to follow us to this other part of the island.

If your goal is luxury and privacy, you’d better stay away from the popular beaches - Kata, Karon and Patong. We would advise you to pay attention to the North of the island, where among the green national parks there are the best Phuket hotels.

poll villa in phuket

We chose a cozy and affordable luxury hotel - Dewa Resort – located next to the airport. This hotel is known for its luxurious pool villas at the price of a standard room of any 5 star resorts. The villas are surrounded by a high fence which ensures your absolute privacy. There is one more special thing that we loved about the resort - it is located right next to the beautiful and less crowded Nai Yang Beach near the Sirinath National Park preserve. Nai Yang Beach is one of the only beaches left in Phuket that stays "untouched" and natural beauty is still intact there.

On Fridays at the Bamboo Bar, you can listen to live jazz. This bar is an ideal place to watch the sunset over the Andaman Sea with a glass of cold beer or cocktail. The SPA at Dewa Phuket Resort is one more thing not to be missed. With natural herbal ingredients their treatments provide maximum pleasure and benefits for your body and mind.

restaurant with a view in phuket

There is a hotel with true Thai hospitality, where even if you don’t stay, you should come for lunch or dinner - Dusit Thani Phuket is located in one of the most beautiful places on the island - at the lagoon and the longest beach of the island of Bang Tao. There are six restaurants, from Chinese to Portuguese, that will leave few people indifferent, but we recommend going to any Thai restaurant, where you will enjoy delicious Thai cuisine and incredible dishes served on genuine Thai porcelain. We would recommend you to taste local sea bass baked with lemon grass and chili. And, of course, famous Tom Yum Kha soup with coconut milk and seafood or chicken. The wine list here is impeccable, as well as the skills of the chef.

Hotel representatives say that there are guests who have come to the hotel 20-25 times, and one of the reasons they keep coming is the excellent cooking. By the way, the hotel often arranges special parties inviting Michelin chefs and serving exclusive Thai wine (from grapes grown in the northern Thailand in very limited quantity), so if you want something really special, we advise you to send a request to the hotel very much in advance.

bar in phuket with the best view

In Phuket, there are plenty of great bars, but one of them is a must visit place, even if you drink only fresh juices. Baba Nest at SRI Panwa Hotel is a rooftop bar with one of the best views in the world, repeatedly getting Awards from the best tourist magazines. Here you can sip a cocktail while enjoying the views of the Andaman Sea, Phuket and nearby islands. You’d better book a table a month in advance, otherwise you risk not to get into.

luxury spa near laguna in phuket

In Thailand you can get excellent SPA treatment at any five-star hotel. However, if you want to experience something very special, we recommend you go to one of the oases of the Oasis SPA which branches are located all over Phuket. Here you will find the unique atmosphere of a day SPA, magic hands of massage therapists who have finished the Oasis SPA special school, and all procedures (excluding face treatments) are made with the use of fresh and natural Thai plants and aromatic oils. We advise you to try one of their four-hour programs, which start with a steam bath then a body scrub and wrap, and end with an unforgettable two-hour massage.

best show in phuket

Phuket FantaSea is another not-to-be-missed thing while on Phuket. This marvelous cultural theme park is both for grown-ups and children. Located on Kamala Beach, the park is a combination of theatrical show, entertainment pavilions, buffet restaurants and Thai traditions and heritage.

where to see elephant show

There are about 40 elephants that every day take part in breathtaking Las Vegas-style theatrical show where the state-of-the-art technology and special effects enhance the grace and beauty of Thailand's myths, mysteries and magic in a wondrous extravaganza certain to delight the whole family. In the park you can also ride and feed the elephants, see rare white tigers and cute lemurs and find a lot of souvenirs for memories of the great time spent in Thailand.

I fell in love with traveling much earlier than I fell in love with my first man. And I'm still faithful to that love (But I have exchanged some men since my first one). I have never had a reason to regret my passion. I constantly dream of going further, it gives me indescribable emotions and meaning to my life.
