Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara - An Arabian Fairytale Castle in the Desert
Luxurious, remote, romantic - all these words describe the Anantara Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort perfectly. A wonderful oasis set in the mystical landscape of the legendary Liwa Desert. On your way there it may seem you are travelling across the Moon because the landscape around it doesn't look like one found on Earth. It has dunes changing their color from golden to scarlet in the ever-changing sunlight. This is the perfect place to stay for a few days while on vacation in the UAE; simply in order to take in the incredible desert views. You will never, ever forget your visit.
From the outside, this intimate resort resembles an old Arabian fortress. However, from the inside it looks like a luxurious palace.
Handmade furniture, carpet and embroidered fabrics – everything gives one a feeling of warmth and romance.
The Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort: accommodation includes 154 rooms located in two-storeyed buildings. First floor rooms have access to the garden and second floor rooms have balconies or corner terraces overlooking magnificent landscapes. Moreover, visitors can choose to stay in one of 42 villas located in the middle of the resort.
The most luxurious accommodation can be found in one of 10 Royal villas opened in May 2014; these are less than a kilometer away from the resort’s main complex. Each villa resembles a private palace; complete with its own swimming pool, spacious living room and outdoor terrace with picturesque views over the dunes - as far as the eye can see.
Upon arrival the guests are introduced to their butler for their stay and their 'personal chef'. The chef cooks all of their meals and takes them on a culinary adventure based on their tastes and preferences. Additionally, the guests are able to visit any of the restaurants in the entire resort. They can choose to go by camel or a luxury SUV. Guests staying in the Royal Villas have the choice of free entertainment. This could be a trek on a camel or a desert safari, or archery or many more things.
Besides picturesque views, this isolated resort gives you an opportunity “to explore the desert”. There are many things to try there; these include camel rides at dawn to see the sunrise, archery, a desert safari and sand “rollercoasters”. You'll be shown falcons for hunting and you can try surfing in the desert.
After such an exciting day you are welcome to relax in the fresh pool waters or in the Anantara Spa with hammam, in a jacuzzi, steam baths or an ice cave.
Arabic hospitality, unprecedented luxury, comfort as well as charming desert views will always be remembered. No wonder this resort got an honorary award from Virtuoso in 2014 as the most innovative experience for discerning travellers.

Hotel Villa Jerez: Feels Like Owning a Luxury VillaSo, there we were, driving through the beautiful Costa del Sol region. Our last destination for the day was a small, cosy town named Jerez.
