My Fantastic Weekend in Paris: the Splendor of the Eiffel Tower and Moulin Rouge
I am inviting you to continue our journey around Paris. As I mentioned in my previous post, Paris won’t leave anyone unimpressed. And if you’re a little tired of the variety of monuments, cathedrals and basilicas you can find an escape in the “La Défense” District – they call it The XXI Century Paris.

In this modern part of Paris you'll find a completely different scenery - La Défense is a major business district that hosts huge shopping malls and office skyscrapers. It reminded me the Canary Wharf District in London.

The symbol and probably the most famous construction in La Défense is the Grande Arche, the third arch on the Historical Axis of Paris along with the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile and the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel. It's genuinely impressive and breathtaking.

Shopping is always a good idea in Paris, and La Défense is a great place for it. As you can see my friend Kristina was delighted.

As the sun sets it is time to visit the most popular place in Paris - the Eiffel Tower. During daytime it's not even half as spectacular as it gets at night.

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most impressive human creation and most-visited monument in the world. If you look closely you'll notice the list of names that goes all around the Tower. In total there are names of seventy-two French scientists, engineers and mathematicians engraved in recognition of their contribution.

A perfect time and place to take some photos. The Eiffel Tower looks magnificent from all four sides, but the best view is from the Trocadéro area.

This funny fluffy Eiffel Tower caught my attention and I took it home with me.

This gorgeous scenery made me take hundreds of pictures. After sunsets the Tower gets lighted up and sparkles every hour for about 5 minutes. The light show it creates is indescribable. In a moment everybody just gets silent and looks at the Tower. Personally I went there every evening to admire the show.

Once the show is over everyone returns to taking photos and selfies. Personally I think it's the best time for photos. Even though I've seen the Tower dozens of times I am still carried away as if it is the first time I see it.

I would definitely suggest taking one of photos at night. It looks so much more exciting and spectacular even if it’s cloudy.

If you add a little imagination you can create all kinds of stunning effects to your photos which will make them even more dramatic.

Take a walk from the Eiffel Tower to the Arc de Triomphe. You'll see how small streets of Paris get lighted up by the mighty Eiffel tower. And if you manage to visit Arc de Triomphe till 10p.m.- you'll be lucky to see probably one of the best night panoramas in Paris.

Once you get to the top of Arc de Triomphe you’ll be able to see Paris in any direction. The mighty Eiffel Tower, Champs-Élysées, La Défense, Sacré-Cœur - it’s all there right in front of your eyes. Enjoy!

When you walk up some avenue you'll run into quiet and secluded residential areas , – neither souvenir shops norcrowded restaurants or thousands of tourists. This is where you'll feel the real spirit of Paris - the city of love.

The world famous Moulin Rouge show will make a perfect completion for the day. It is really worth visiting - this stunning show with funnystunts and amazing acrobatic tricks will give you an unforgettable lifetime experience.

Just look at its interior - so old fashioned and classy - just as you would imagine it to be.

The show is about to begin. Unfortunately it is strictly forbidden to take any photos inside. I got warned twice even before the show had begun. So you will have to believe me - the show was really worth visiting.

Thank you, Paris, for the gorgeous experience and weekend. Of course there is so much more to enjoy in addition to what I’ve just described and you would need at least a month to feel the real spirit of this city but it was a good start and I know that I’ll definitely return to this city again and again.
