What amazed us the most?

A location that is almost impossible to beat; with stunning views of the Lagoon and the island of San Giorgio.

Why should you come here?

To have the best Venetian experience, staying at the Londra Palace Hotel, that has been a landmark of Venice for over 140 years; and to understand what inspired Tchaikovsky to create his Fourth Symphony here.

The most

special thing about the hotel

So there we were… going through the gorgeous Piazza San Marco and walking down the coastline of the lagoon and watching the beautiful gondolas passing by; full of happy tourists.

Just as we’re approaching famous Vittoria Emanuele II monument we see this beautifully restored neo-gothic Hotel Londra Palace. Tonight you are staying here, at the very heart of Venice. And it’s only the beginning.

Entering the hotel you are immersed into the gorgeously elegant Biedermeier style, full of 19th century antiques, and yet the whole place looks very modern and fresh; partly because it was designed by the architect responsible for Versace’s retail stores.

The Londra Palace Hotel is a small boutique hotel with only 53 rooms; and every one is unique. It continually amazed us throughout our stay. Especially when in the morning we went to have a breakfast. How would you like to have a breakfast at the very top of the hotel with a staggering (and even mind-blowing) view over Venice and the Laguna Veneta? One couldn’t wish for more.

And if the roof top terrace is not enough for you, or the weather is a little windy, then just relax in a warm Jacuzzi right in the middle of the living room with a roof window above you… this is real Venetian ‘Dolce Vita’.

To sum up I would have to say that the pleasure of being in Venice is experienced to the maximum with a stay at the Londra Palace.

How to make

the most of your stay

1. Be sure to ask for a room with a stunning view of the lagoon and the island of San Giorgio. This is a view you will never forget.
2. Have dinner at one of the finest restaurants in the city (Do Leoni) serving delicious traditional Venetian and international cuisine. Personally I would suggest having a steak and trust the sommelier with the wine choice. The hotel has an impressive wine selection; as well as an irresistible array of desserts.
3. Have a breakfast at the Do Leoni restaurant outdoor terrace which is one of Venice’s most extraordinary dining venues.

to see and do

The answer is simple. Beautiful Venice. Just step outside the hotel and you are in the very heart of it. Piazza San Marco is just a few meters away from you. It’s a great chance to visit and experience it during the night as well or early in the morning since you don’t need to walk through the crowds and the endless maze of the city streets to find your hotel.

How to

get there

Obviously it is not possible to get to the hotel by car. So you have a few other options. The first one and the easiest is to take a boat, water taxi or gondola. It would take you about 50 minutes to get from the Central Station of Venice to the very Entrance of the hotel. Plus you will get to see the city while cruising down the narrow city canals.
The other option is of course walking. The route is about 2.5km, and providing, that you don’t get lost, it might take about 40 minutes of walking.

Special thank you to the wonderful Londra Palace Hotel team who was kind enough to invite us to this wonderful hotel which resulted in creating the best Venice experience we've ever had.
