Clontarf Castle Hotel
Hotel in Dublin Located in a Medieval Castle

What amazed us most?
The spirit of the old medieval castle; upon arrival, you enter a completely different world.
Why should you come here?
Have you ever dreamed of living in a castle? Well, this is your chance to make your dream a reality. An absolutely unique experience combining a medieval castle with a luxury hotel, with all of the superb service and comforts you would expect.

THE MOST SPECIAL THING
ABOUT THE HOTEL
Clontarf Castle, dating from the 12th century, is the only castle hotel in Dublin frequently visited by celebrities, such as Bono from U2.
The most special thing about the hotel is, without any doubt, the interior. First, you enter through the huge gates and drive through a beautiful garden to the castle. You can spot the tower from a distance. Real amoured guards welcome you at the door.
The luxury hotel was built around the castle, and features a striking historic exterior and a warm Irish welcome, in combination with rich interior design. The 111 rooms and exclusive suites are all located in the newest part of the building which surrounds the castle tower.

This place is a must for both adults and kids. While parents can admire the beautiful decor and interior design, for younger visitors it is like an amusement park with so many places to hide and rooms to discover.

HOW TO MAKE
THE MOST OF YOUR STAY
Explore the design and details of the hotel. We’ve been in so many different hotels all over the world, but have never experienced anything close to this.
Make a reservation at the new Fahrenheit restaurant, Indigo Lounge or Knights Bar. Our favourite for a drink was the Knights Bar, firmly rooted in the traditions of an ancient castle while providing guests with 21st century service. If you've got a taste for some exquisite Irish food, head to Fahrenheit Restaurant, one of Dublin’s top grill restaurants.
Have dinner in the tower itself. You can’t stay overnight there or have breakfast in the morning but it is possible to make a dinner reservation and enjoy your meal in the 12th century tower. How cool is that?
WHAT ELSE
IS THERE TO SEE AND DO
Make sure to take a walk around the castle through the beautiful, lush gardens surrounding it. The hotel is near Bull Island Bird Sanctuary and Nature Reserve, St Anne’s Park and Rose Gardens and Croke Park Stadium. The castle isn’t in the centre of Dublin but public transport or a taxi will take you to the city centre in as little as 10 minutes. We were so lucky with the weather that we took a 40-minute walk to Dublin city centre where one can explore amazing pubs and restaurants, beautiful parks and gardens and exclusive shopping.

HOW
TO GET HERE
The hotel is located just 10 minutes' drive from Dublin city centre. Public transport or a taxi will take you there easily. There’s a huge car park right by the entrance, so renting a car is also a good option.
