Charlotte Street Hotel London
Welcome to Early Twentieth-Century England

What amazes us most?
Kit Kemp, designer and co-owner of the hotel, has a talent for creating a welcoming space. We loved the fresh and sophisticated English-Bohemian style that envelops you from the moment you enter the hotel.
Why should you come here?
To feel and witness the spirit of early twentieth-century England thanks to the “Bloomsbury Set” theme that has been used throughout the boutique hotel, with original sculptures and paintings from the period. To enjoy the private, luxuriously appointed state-of-the-art hotel cinema, not to mention the rooftop views from the sumptuous suites on the top floor.

THE MOST
special thing about the hotel
It’s 1:00 a.m. We have finally arrived at a classic white building called the “Charlotte Street Hotel”. The front door opens before we reach it and our bags are taken with a smile.
Despite being tired after a long trip, we stay a bit longer in the lobby to admire its beauty. Interior design by Kit Kemp reflects a fresh and modern English style combined with scenes of “contemporary London life”. This is not a stuffy, museum-style hotel filled with antiques, but more of an elegant marriage of traditional and modern England.
After a speedy check-in, we were escorted to our room; not just any room but the best room in the hotel - the Penthouse Suite. High ceilings, beautiful statues and a chandelier, a book wall, candles, a huge bed and an amazing rooftop view of London from our windows... We suddenly felt like we were the heroes in a Sherlock Holmes movie.
The first thing I did was take out my iPhone to connect it via Bluetooth to the wireless Bose music station. I turned on my favourite music, dimmed the lights in the suite, and went to the window to experience the truly staggering views of London. It really feels like they’ve taken the best of modern London and transported it back in time with the 20th century interior.
The thing we loved most about the hotel was the state-of-the-art screening room or, in other words, an in-house cinema. It has 75 colourful seats, including some extra soft and comfortable sofa chairs. Every Sunday, the hotel organises movie nights as part of a package deal with Oscar restaurant which serves contemporary European dishes.
The hotel library quickly became our favourite spot in the evenings. There are two separate rooms on the first floor with a huge amount of books, some of them more than 500 years old. Find a comfortable sofa under the stylish lighting and grab whichever book suits your mood at the time. I have to admit that even sitting in the library for ten minutes is an amazingly relaxing experience.

The location of the hotel is another benefit. Charlotte Street Hotel is located in the very centre of London, just north of Soho, in London’s media district. In the evenings, the hotel bar fills up with ad people and journalists working in the area.
Walking around the hotel's busy surroundings, packed with vibrant shops, bars, restaurants and cafés, you can do the test to see if you are tired of life or not. As Samuel Johnson, English writer, poet and essayist said, 'When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life’. We can proudly admit that we are not tired of London, and we will definitely be going back to the wonderful Charlotte Street Hotel.

HOW TO MAKE
the most of your stay
- Make sure to plan your reservation around movie night to make your stay even more spectacular.
- Visit the library and experience the spirit of England's history all around you.
- Try the rich and traditional Full English breakfast in Oscar restaurant or, in the summer time, order a picnic hamper for a lazy day in the park. We can't think of a better way to start the day.
WHAT ELSE
to see and do
The hotel is perfectly placed in the very heart of London, just North of Soho. The neighbourhood is full of fancy restaurants, cafés and stores. You can reach Oxford Street, Trafalgar Square, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus and Regent Park on foot in 10 minutes. You really couldn't wish for more. There's no need to use the Tube but if you do have to, there’s a station a few minutes from the hotel.

HOW TO
get here
The hotel is really easy to find and reach. It’s a 5-minute walk from Tottenham Court Road Tube station. You can also use other public transport, or just take a taxi.
