What amazed us most

It’s all about music. All 49 rooms in this historic building are dedicated to famous musicians and composers. It’s full of sounds of music and you feel the magic just by entering the grand lobby with its centrepiece - a unique piano designed by the Hungarian musician, Gergely Bogányi.

Why should you come here

This new, luxury, boutique hotel has an unbeatable location just near St. Stephen’s Basilica in the very centre of Budapest. Created by famous Library Hotel Collection founder, hotelier Henry Kallan, the hotel is special because of its universal love of music. The unique concept will win your heart immediately, together with its rooftop bar, the coolest place in Budapest for a cocktail.

Entering the hotel I felt like I was being transported to another world. It has been carefully refurbished to its original 19th century grandeur and features a subtle elegance in every single detail. I started to unravel its magical story just standing at the reception, where I was told that I would be staying in the classical music suite. I love classical music! In all, the hotel features four wings - jazz, contemporary, opera and classical. So when I entered my stunningly beautiful room, I was greeted by Claude-Achille Debussy's portrait on the wall.

I switched on the music library via iPad and entered the marble bathroom, where I enjoyed a hot shower while listening to the sounds of music.

It was amazing to wake up to Maria Callas, and fall asleep to Schubert, then have breakfast to the sounds of Pavarotti. There's such a special ambience here that you just don’t want to leave. I was glad I had already discovered Budapest, so I could afford such luxuries as having long breakfasts in the dazzling glass-covered courtyard, then get lost in a book from the huge in-room collection, then sip a cocktail at the 360-degree, panorama rooftop bar.

  • Enjoy the amazing spa with sauna and steam room as it is a more seductive alternative to the Szechenyi public baths.
  • Book a table at The Stradivari restaurant with its soothing wall of water, violins hanging from the ceiling and a menu of mouthwatering international and Hungarian dishes. We have nothing groundbreaking to say here – try the goose liver. This is a must. But absolutely all of the dishes were just perfect.
  • Enjoy a special concert, musical, opera, or ballet at Teatro Aria near the Musica Garden.
  • Be spotted at one of the coolest places in Budapest - the rooftop bar where you can marvel at the amazing 360° panorama while sipping a cocktail.

The superb central location gives you the unique opportunity to start exploring Budapest from just outside the hotel: the St. Stephen Basilica with Hungary’s most revered relic, the Holy Right Hand of King St. Stephen, and the tomb of the most famous Hungarian, Ferenc Puskás, and the Danube are all just a short walk from the hotel, ideal for strolling along the stretch of Danube Promenade.

The hotel is a 3-minute walk from the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Metro station. You can also contact the hotel concierge to book a transfer from the airport, which is only a 20-minute drive.
