What amazed us most?

The beauty of the lagoon surrounding this picture-perfect tropical island. The fact that you get three islands instead of one, all located in the same lagoon with a cute boat sailing between them. So, you have a choice of more than 10 restaurants, two spas and many other activities.

Why should you come here?

To learn surfing in the crystal clear water. To try Michelin-starred-level restaurant cuisine. To be spoiled by the exceptional and heart-warming service of Thai-owned Anantara.

The most

special thing about the hotel

After just 20 minutes by luxurious speed boat from Male International Airport, we were approaching the crystal clear turquoise waters of the lagoon surrounding Anantara Dhigu island. A drummer was playing on the pier celebrating the arrival of new guests, and we were escorted to our beach villa. Fruit and champagne, a shower in an open-air bathroom, a stroll along a white, powder sand deserted beach and... we felt like we were in paradise.

the most of your stay

  • Kayak to Guli Fushi island at the edge of the lagoon for snorkelling and, if you are lucky, you will see some puffer fish, sting rays and baby reef sharks.
  • Unwind at Anantara Spa with a range of renowned signature treatments. You can choose the Ayurveda spa at Anantara Veli island or the classic spa with overwater treatment rooms at Anantara Dhigu.
  • Enjoy a slow lunch at the Fire and Salt Grill Restaurant. The views are simply breathtaking.
  • Choose “Dining by Design” in the location of your choice. It will be just the two of you, your waiter and millions of stars above your head.
  • Try Spicy Spoons cooking classes with herbs from the Chef's Garden. It’s fun to learn how to cook traditional Maldivian, Thai and many other dishes.
  • Enjoy a special Sunset Cruise aboard the luxurious Naladhu Raanee. Drift across the Indian Ocean at the most romantic time of day. Watch the sun set as you sip champagne and savour delectable canapés. Relax on the deck on large sun beds and relish the tropical breeze, endless ocean and the company of someone special.
  • Sponsor a coral (the price starts from 100 dollars) by adopting a coral frame. You take part in the Coral Adoption Programme by transplanting coral onto your frame in the shallow waters of the lagoon, with the help of the resident Marine Biologist. Once the coral has been attached, the frame is moved to its new permanent home in the lagoon. So you will definitely have to pay a visit to this beautiful island again in the future to see how your coral is doing.

What else

is there to see and do

You are on a tiny island in the Indian Ocean so enjoy your Robinson Crusoe lifestyle. On the way back to the airport, if you have few hours to spare, you could visit Male to buy some fruit and see how the locals live. In general, it’s a busy and dirty city - definitely not one of the cities you must visit in your life.

to get there

Just book your stay at Anatara Dhigu and a white speed boat will be waiting for you upon your arrival at Male International Airport.
